Carra is a born-and-bred Texan and proud of it. She's a member of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas,  and of the Daughters of the American Revolution. 

She was born in Dallas and grew up in Arlington, just a stones throw from where the Dallas Cowboys now call home. She and her hero live in North Central Texas, in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex where they enjoy their family and grandchildren. In addition to writing and researching for her next book, she enjoys playing bridge, working on crochet projects, and adding to her family genealogy.
